The release of ChatGPT, which took place on November 30, 2022, revolutionized the internet, opening the door to a new digital reality for us. In the five and a half months since its appearance, many users have already interacted with it and experienced its potential. Many consider this chatbot as an assistant: it provides competent answers to various questions, can write poetry, create portraits of target audience representatives, and communicates with people on almost all topics. And all of this – right in the browser, without the need to install additional software.

On May 18, the developer company OpenAI announced the release of a new version of their chatbot – an application for devices on iOS. The ChatGPT application for iPhone differs from the browser version by being able to answer a person's questions posed in voice mode. This gives it some similarity with widely known virtual assistants like Alexa (Amazon) and Siri (Apple). However, the chatbot responds to the person not with a voice, but with generated text.

In its official blog, OpenAI noted that the mobile ChatGPT application for iOS was developed as part of the work to transform artificial intelligence into "useful tools that should expand human capabilities". A postscript to the note clarifies that Android device owners will not be left out – a generative chatbot for smartphones will soon appear for them as well.

The promotion of this AI text generator in the market for iPhone mobile applications will increase its popularity and demand. By providing access to AI for iPhone users (1.36 billion people or 18.55% of all smartphone users in the world), the OpenAI artificial intelligence laboratory improves its position among serious competitors, such as Google and Microsoft. By the way, these two technological giants have already released similar "smart" chatbots (Bard and Bing, respectively) and are now actively integrating generative language models into their online services.
