Developer-focused platform Anysphere has rolled out a new top-tier plan for its AI coding editor, Cursor. For $200 a month, the Ultra tier grants users 20x usage on models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind and xAI compared with the widely used $20 Pro plan, plus first access to any forthcoming features.

The launch comes amid record momentum for the startup. Earlier in June, Anysphere revealed that Cursor’s annualized recurring revenue had climbed past $500 million, with heavyweight clients such as Nvidia, Uber and Adobe already on board.

Whether Anysphere can maintain its breakneck growth without running head-to-head into its model partners is an open question. The company is hedging its bets by investing in proprietary technology; in May it introduced “Tab”, an AI model that proposes code changes across multiple files.

The “vibe-coding” space is becoming increasingly crowded. Several of the language-model vendors that power Cursor are developing their own code-generation assistants. Industry chatter suggests OpenAI has snapped up Windsurf — one of Cursor’s key rivals — to bolster its AI coding lineup, while Anthropic continues to refine its in-house Claude Code tool.
