X is now utilizing Grok AI to enhance its Explore section by providing summaries of personalized trending stories. This new feature allows Premium subscribers of X to quickly read summaries of related posts for each trending topic featured on the For You tab. The For You page itself highlights news and stories trending across X's platform that are popular within your network, as well as other recommended content. It's a go-to resource for X users looking to stay updated with the latest discussions on the platform without the need to endlessly scroll through their timeline.
The concept of summarizing trending topics isn't novel, but X's implementation using AI-driven summaries, known as Grok’s Stories, marks a new approach. Previously, under different management, Twitter started to enhance its trend summaries with headlines and descriptions in 2020, though these were not AI-generated.
Now, with the introduction of Grok’s Stories, all major news items on the For You page are succinctly summarized. Offering access to the Grok AI chatbot is designed to encourage users to subscribe to X’s Premium service. Premium subscribers, including those on the higher-tier Premium+ plan, can access Grok by clicking the bottom middle button in the app, with subscription prices starting at $8 per month.
