Local businesses will be able to significantly expand the amount of data provided to buyers in their profile on the platform.
Twitter continues to develop the capabilities of business accounts. Companies have already received the opportunity to place virtual storefront of their products on the platform, a description of their business, and set up mailing lists. Now the Location Spotlight function is being launched, the purpose of which will be to deepen the interaction of businesses with local buyers.
Stores will be able to provide a range of data in their profiles that are important to shoppers in their region. These can be opening hours with hints about whether the store is open at the moment, contacts by which the buyer can contact the store, for example, e-mail or phone, as well as an exact indication of the location, with the additional ability to build a convenient route using Google Maps.
Owners of professional Twitter accounts can create this kind of business cards in their profile. For now, this option is only available to pages in a few English-speaking regions, but we plan to roll it out to all business users over time.
