The short video platform confirms its place as one of the fastest growing apps in the world in terms of the number of downloads.
TikTok has once again confirmed its right to take the place of the leader in the list of the most downloaded applications. Taking into account the actions of users from all over the world, Sensor Tower has compiled a report that summed up the number of app downloads for the first quarter of this year.
In total, TikTok has been downloaded more than 175 million times since the beginning of the year, followed globally by Instagram with over 150 million downloads, and third place is taken by Facebook, which also has just over 150 million downloads in three months. More than two thirds of all downloads happen through Google Play, about a third through the App Store.
Data from the US shows that TikTok, along with YouTube, has been the most popular app on the App Store since 2021. And on Google Play, the app ranks first in popularity for the third quarter in a row. For the European region, the alignment of forces is not significantly different. TikTok and WhatsApp occupy the top positions in the ranking of downloaded applications, while Instagram slightly lowered their positions and ended up in fourth place.
