Pinterest has launched new settings that allow users to see less AI-generated content in their feeds. The company is also making its existing labels for AI-created images more prominent, responding to complaints from users who say the platform has become flooded with synthetic imagery.

The platform introduced “AI modified” tags earlier this year to identify AI-generated images. But many users have grown frustrated with the sheer volume of this content, particularly in categories like beauty, fashion, art, and home decor. As AI image generators become more accessible, the problem has gotten worse, with some users finding it harder to discover authentic creative work.

The new controls live in the app's Settings menu under “Refine your recommendations.” Users can dial down AI content by category, and Pinterest says it will add more options based on feedback. The settings can be changed whenever users want, giving them ongoing control over what appears in their feeds.
