Through the new partnership, merchant companies will be featured in an enhanced format on Bing search, Microsoft Edge browser, and Microsoft Start news service.
The number of sellers on the Shopify e-commerce platform has already surpassed 1.7 million. And a few months ago, the service announced a partnership with Google, thanks to which Shopify users were able to communicate directly with customers through Google search and other services of the company. Now Microsoft has announced a similar deal.
The collaboration will give users of the Bing search engine enhanced access to merchant product offerings from Shopify. In addition, a list of products from sellers will be presented on the Shopping tab in the Microsoft Edge browser, as well as in the Microsoft Start news service. Shopify merchants can use the Microsoft Channel app to customize their presence on Microsoft services. Companies will also be able to track their ad campaigns through their Shopify dashboard.
For companies using Shopify, such an innovation will be a way to expand their audience reach and get an additional influx of buyers. At the same time, such a move could significantly increase Microsoft's advertising revenues.
