At the company's annual conference, it was announced that it will now use a new word, Meta, as its corporate name.

Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg made a big announcement at a company conference. According to him, the corporate name for the entire business structure will no longer be Facebook, but a new name - Meta. A new logo was also shown, which is a stylized symbol of infinity.

The new name refers to the Greek word "meta", which can be translated as "outside" or "beyond". According to a statement from the head of the company, it reflects the company's plans to build a metaverse, significantly expanding the tasks on which the company is working. According to Zuckerberg, «Right now, our brand is so tightly linked to one product that it can't possibly represent everything that we're doing today, let alone in the future».

In the future, Meta is expected to focus not only on the development of its Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, as well as other services, but also on solving broader issues facing the technology sphere. In particular, they talk about a new concept of the digital world, which will combine elements of physical and virtual reality.
