For the first time, LinkedIn has revealed the revenue figures for its premium subscription segment, announcing that it generated $1.7 billion in 2023, bolstered by an increase in the use of its new artificial intelligence features. The platform shared that its total revenue reached $15 billion in fiscal 2023.
In recent times, LinkedIn has focused on enhancing its premium subscription offering, aimed at job seekers and other individuals, with prices starting at $39.99 monthly. This initiative was significantly supported by the introduction of AI capabilities last year, including tools that evaluate job postings against a job seeker's resume to suggest match suitability, assist in optimizing LinkedIn profiles for greater attractiveness to recruiters, and enable automatic creation of messages to recruiters.
Dan Shapero, LinkedIn's Chief Operating Officer, in an interview, highlighted a 25% increase in premium subscribers in 2023, though specific subscriber numbers were not disclosed. Shapero noted that preliminary data indicates that 70% of subscribers who had access to the new AI functionalities have utilized them, with 90% finding them beneficial.
