OpenAI is rolling out a fresh set of ChatGPT enhancements aimed at improving both performance and accessibility. The latest release upgrades the platform's core AI models while introducing new features for users across different subscription tiers.
Users on paid ChatGPT plans now have access to an enhanced GPT-5.6 Sol model that delivers clearer, more focused responses and keeps a consistent experience whether handling simple questions or more demanding tasks. Users can also adjust the model's reasoning effort through a new control, choosing between faster replies and more detailed analysis.
The free version of ChatGPT is also becoming more capable. GPT-5.6 Luna now serves as the standard model, unlimited text messaging is being added, and a dedicated Think option provides additional reasoning power when tackling difficult requests. Other resource-intensive features will continue to have usage limits.
According to OpenAI, the updated models are better at handling fact-based questions and are less likely to produce incorrect information. The company has also strengthened safeguards for younger audiences, reinforcing its broader goal of making advanced AI tools safer, more dependable, and available to a larger number of people.
