OpenAI has released a desktop version of the ChatGPT chatbot for Windows users. For now, the new ChatGPT app is available only to users subscribed to the Plus, Team, Enterprise and Edu tariff plans. However, the company promises that the version of ChatGPT for Windows will soon be open to a wide audience absolutely free of charge. It will happen this year, although not as quickly as we would like. Therefore, you will have to wait a little.
The new application allows you to use ChatGPT directly from your computer. It allows you to upload files and photos, conduct dialogues with a bot about documents, concisely summarize texts, and create graphics using DALL-E 3.
The ChatGPT desktop app is currently supported on Windows 10 and 11. As it is in early testing, some features that are available on macOS or the web version may not be available yet. The app does not yet support voice input and enhanced voice mode, as well as some other integrations with OpenAI's GPT store.
You can download ChatGPT for Windows from the Microsoft Store. Just like the macOS version, this app can be minimized to a small window. When working with other applications, it can be called using the key combination "Alt + Space."
