Anthropic has unveiled its latest generative AI model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet. The novelty is capable of analyzing both text and images and generating text. It stands out as Anthropic’s most advanced model to date, showcasing superior performance on numerous AI benchmarks in areas such as reading, coding, mathematics, and vision, compared to its predecessor, Claude 3 Sonnet, and even surpassing Anthropic's former top model, Claude 3 Opus.
Along with the new model, Anthropic has introduced a feature called Artifacts, a creative workspace that allows users to modify and enhance content—such as code and documents—created by Anthropic's models. A notable enhancement in Claude 3.5 Sonnet is its improved ability to analyze imagery. It excels particularly in interpreting charts and graphs and can transcribe text from imperfect images.
Claude 3.5 Sonnet is now available. Users of Anthropic’s web client and the Claude iOS app can access the new model for free, while subscribers to Anthropic’s Claude Pro and Claude Team plans will benefit from a five-fold increase in limits. Furthermore, Claude 3.5 Sonnet has been integrated into Anthropic’s API and is also available on platforms such as Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud’s Vertex AI.
