OneNote is a service for creating and managing notes and any text notes launched by Microsoft in 2003. It is part of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, but has been available as a standalone product for free since 2014. The service interface allows you to create printed, handwritten and voice notes using a computer, tablet or smartphone.

Users can flexibly organize and structure information in their notebooks, distributing it into sections and pages, and also edit them by highlighting certain parts of the text, marking it with colors or markers. OneNote also offers a set of tools to navigate and search for individual notes or the information they contain. There is a tagging system to help you highlight the most important notes, and the handwriting function allows you to write text directly on the screen (with a pen or finger).

OneNote allows you to create audio notes, download various files, and embed videos from YouTube or other sites. In addition, the built-in OneNote Web Clipper provides functionality for inserting and saving clips, as well as functions for dragging and dropping text from the browser window, recognizing text from images, and adding photos from a computer or mobile device.

OneNote supports plugins that you can use to significantly expand its functionality, for example, develop your own macros and share them with other users. There is also a built-in calculator and ample opportunities for sending notes to Microsoft Word, to an email address, to a blog, or to print via a printer.
